TESTS AND INSPECTIONS
As responsible property owners I am sure you are pleased to be kept informed as to current recommendations for ensuring the Safety of Electrical Installations as outlined in BS 7671 also known as the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations.
For domestic installations it is recommended that a full Test and Inspection be carried out at least every 10 years to identify any deterioration of the wiring, including most importantly the earthing, and adequacy of the protective devices (fuses or circuit breakers) to ensure protection from electric shock and the ignition of fires in the event of faults occurring.
This inspection will include recommendations for improvements to meet current regulations in addition to observations of any items requiring urgent attention. It is recommended that all appliances are also tested.
